A film about photographer Paul Blanca, an internationally celebrated artist who enjoyed success in New York art circles and was friends with Robert Mapplethorpe, Keith Haring, and Richard Gere. But it all came to an end when Rob Scholte falsely accused him of planting a bomb under his car in 1995. Blanca thus became the first artist in the Netherlands to be "canceled"; museums, galleries, and collectors severed all ties with him, and his artistic career was buried. Blanca died at the age of 62 after a life of drug and alcohol abuse. In a possibly futile attempt to save a fading life from an inglorious demise, Ramón Gieling filmed Paul Blanca in his final months. Through the camera, we witness Blanca's struggle against the transience of his body and the inexorable passage of time. In addition, the film sketches Paul Blanca through the eyes of the people around him. Erwin Olaf, Hans van Manen, Koos van Breukel, Wim van Sinderen, Henk Schiffmacher and his partner Louise Schiffmacher, Benno Vlaswinkel, his life partner Marlies Jongsma, Cees Dam, Rob Malasch and Hans Kemna speak openly for the first time about this forgotten Dutch art icon.
